Dave Smith on Saturday’s defeat

Another defeat, saw us slip into the bottom 2 of the league, but i have no complaints about Coney Hall’s 2-0 victory as they were the better side.
From early on it was clear the visitors, had more experience and a more physical approach than us and they controlled the game. They took a deserved lead in the 20th min, when a mix up between keeper Craig Smith and Matt Hadlum, allowed the Coney Hall forward to slot home and in all fairness we were lucky to reach the break at only 1-0.
The second half started in the same manner, with the visitors playing some fast effective football and it was no surprise when they increased there lead in the 55min,when there centre midfield player walked through our whole defence and scored. We then changed our formation with 2 substitutions and that seemed to bring us into the game and we were unlucky when Andy Wood’s drive smashed against the cross bar and Dan Cornell’s goal bound shot was well blocked and for the final 15 mins we pushed hard and could have snatched a point. But in all fairness i felt our visitors had settled for there 2 goal lead and had starting sitting back.
With next week’s game off due to our 4 lads representing the league in Guernsey and the following week, the semi final of the weald of Kent against Kennington, our next league fixture will not be until Ester Saturday the 11th April. This gives a break and a chance to prepare ourselves for what will be a hectic few weeks to the end of the season,10 games to go,30 points to play for and i can assure everyone at the club we will be giving 110% to keep this side in the premier league.
