Manager reflects upon another disappointing defeat
“The team had another terrible start and we were 3-0 down through a penalty, sloppy defending and a lucky lob from 30 yards. We battled really well to get back into the game but lacked composure in front of goal. However Tom Poyner, who had a very good game, put us back in the game and Ashley Webster also netted with a well-taken lob; although he still needs games to look his best. Tommy Lockett was sent off with a few minutes to go for swearing at a linesman and his discipline is zero. I have tried everything to help Tommy but he is a nightmare and Trent agrees it is a real problem because he is a good player. I am away for a while which is a shame in a way as I will miss the next three matches. Maybe I hung my boots up too early as I came on for the last 25 minutes and should have scored with a header in the last few seconds. What I do know is that playing is more fun that managing at the moment! Still we will soldier on until the end of the season.”
