Wednesday woe as Wilson goal is not enough and Barrett out for rest of the season

Wednesday night: a goal from veteran Steve Wilson put the Green Reserves ahead early on away to Oakwood Reserves this evening but it was the Maidstone boys who stole the points with a 2-1 win. In a game described as one of ’two halves’ by Wilson, with the Green having the better of the first period and the hosts controlling much of the second, once again there will be more KCFA discipinary paperwork on the way with red cards for Dave Robson and Shaun Dadd.

News from Steve Mailey is that Kevin Barrett is out for the remainder of the campaign with achilles problems. It’s bad enough havingdanny-valler-v-cavaliers-2642009 Kev away on duty for most of the season but to have him injured when he is home just about sums up our luck at the moment. Despite some brilliant performances from skipper Mackett and midfield colleagues Greenfield and Milton, plus the form of veterans Perk and Valler (pictured right) it is no wonder Steve can’t wait for the season to finish to provide an opportunity to get everybody fit and have a rethink ready for an assault on the title next season. Some good news is that Reece Hagger is off crutches now but of course he will miss Sunday’s Sheber cup final. More midweek news  as it arrives…
