Looking towards the weekend…

Four appetising pre-season friendlies this coming weekend with again a sprinkling of new faces on display. The Saturday firsts could introduce Adam Mercer for their home match with local side Woodchurch and will not be under-rating Big Man’s charges. Kick off is at 11am. At 3pm, the reserves will be hoping that injury reports on both keeper Chris Cloke and striker Keith Shabba are favourable. Ali Mehmet will continue to experiment as he seeks to find the right format. On Sunday a tough away trip to SIMLA should prove ideal preparation for Steve Mailey’s squad which could include Neil Cheesman and Mark Hazell. Good to see Ryan Holloway back regularly. Phil Wedge has a chance to look at new options with Carl Rossiter and the former New Romney and Locomotive defender Dave O’Leary both likely to feature against highly rated Bethersden. With Cloke doubtful and Shawn Dadd injured, there could be a keeper role to play for either Kenny Hallett or Richard Floyd. More team news as it arrives.
