Green boys enjoying their season after traumatic start

Title-chasing Shepway Spartans are our guests on Sunday morning for what we hope will be another enjoyable affair at Waterside (10.30am kick off). Following a nightmare start to the season for the seniors, which forced the withdrawal from the Premier due to players lack of commitment (and, in several cases, manners!), we have steadily climbed to respectability in the table. Some of our youngsters will be rested as the Under 16s have a local derby at Ashford United in the afternoon but the provisional squad chosen should put up a decent show against the Folkestone-based Spartans.

Terry Perk April 2015Squad to meet at Waterside by 9am is as follows: Mark Whipps, Callem Simmons, Callum Monaghan, Josh Ahmad, Martyn Dalby, Sokol Kristollari, Lewis Mabb, James Vidler, Kurtis Hooper, Matt Wedge, Connor Gower, Jordan Griffin, Ryan Ford, Ben Barrett, Ryan Prior.

Terry Perk [left, recently named as the Sunday League ‘Division Two Manager of the Month for March’ which might puzzle the actual manager Dave Andrews!], Matt Jarvis and Harry Mansfield seem likely to miss out through injury while midfielder Kieran Shrimpton has uni commitments.

vacancyThe club is inviting applications for the post of Sunday senior manager to begin planning now in readiness for next season. Already a number of excellent young players have realised the grass is not actually greener elsewhere and they want to return to their roots. Training continues at Waterside for seniors, U18s and U16s on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm with Dave Andrews, Josh Ahmad, Ian Mace and Martyn Dalby. Under 15s training is back to twice a week at the ground on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm with Matt Wedge. Enquiries for the senior managerial post by email only please to or

Only one game in the club today (Saturday) as the U13 Colts go to Wye. They are meeting at Wye, so the clubhouse will not be opening today. Opening time on Sunday is 8am.
