Report from the U8s manager James Porter at the Snowdown tournament

Another experimental tournament for the U8s today saw much improvement in some players ability which is always a positive thing to see so close to the new season. However, miscommunication from the organisers meant that the tournament was played on astroturf which created some issues with our team as some had brought studs, with not enough grass pitches marked out.
Each game had its positives and negatives, however our first game seemed to be our strongest showing with Austyn (again!) making some unbelievable saves gaining plaudits from other coaches, Bradley scoring from the penalty spot and others especially our new female players (Lily & Phoebe) showing much promise for their future in football.
Due to this, the Player of the Tournament award went to Phoebe Cowley at her first tournament with the new team which I reckon my not be her last.
Here comes the ball James! The U8s had a great time this morning with Bradley on the mark and Phoebe our Player of the Tournament.
