Thanks to everyone who contributed towards another enjoyable day at Waterside … both on and off the pitch
There were some special displays by some of the up-and-coming boys and girls but pride of place has to go to the Under 11s who booked a place in the next round of the Cup with a stunning 5-1 win away to Kennington Junior Colts. On target for the Green were Brentley, Archie, Aiden, Clayton, Jake with the McDonalds Player of the Match going to recent signing Archie Crocker.
Under 12s edge home 2-1 but Pilgrims are making progress
Two goals from Callum Waters ensured maximum spoils from an entertaining match with Pilgrims. A 2-1 victory but all credit to our visitors who have a sprinkling of players of outstanding ability and their time will surely come. Nevertheless, a win for Barrie Castle’s squad, with thePlayer of the Match voucher going to loyal clubman Coleton Pearson.
Fighting stuff from the Colts but Martin’s side excel in the second half
Fabulous entertainment between our two U15/116 squads with a shock on the cards at half time with a 1-1 scoreline. Olly Elford who, along with Ben Tinker, caused all sorts of problems for Martin Wirt’s charges during an impressive spell, equalised on the half hour following some flowing moves down the right flank. But the second period, brought a convincing 5-1 scoreline. On target for the victors were Klaidi (2), Cameron, Jack B and Charlie M.

Pat Penfold reflects on a defeat at Kent University for the U10s
A disappointing day today we lost 2-0 to Canterbury Youth in the East Kent Youth League. We had our chances but didn’t put them away. Player of the match was Connor for determination and good defensive work. Leo was good in goal.
Match report for U14s match today by Rob Finn
Today we traveled to Rye the league leaders on a cold and windy day the boys didn’t really show up and made an average side look good by giving the ball away to easy and not defending set pieces properly . The boys had chances to score goals but never took them Nathan missing a penalty and Dre hitting the upright summed up the match. There was also some selfish play by two individual players which will be addressed at training as this won’t be tolerated as football is a team sport not a solo sport the referee was also diabolical with some of the decisions.
Given there is not much more to say about the game final score Rye 7 Bromley Green 0
MoM today was Piotr for some solid defending; otherwise the defeat could have been a lot heavier … a 3 week break now to put things right.
