Report from Rob Finn on the U14s 6-goal thriller at Egerton
Today the U 14’s traveled to Egerton for a friendly the boys started off brilliantly with some excellent football being played the defending was top draw and midfield and strikers where on form . We soon took the lead when Gift got on the end of piotr’s cross and fired the ball into the net the boys kept pressing for another and it came from Dre with a great solo effort turning the defenders and shooting into the top corner and just before the break gift grabbed his second and the teams 3rd HT 0-3
Second half started well but couldn’t find the net Brendan ilja Dre and gift all going close to adding further goals but it wasn’t to be and for the last twenty minutes allowed Egerton back into the game conceding to sloppy goals making it 2-3 and with a couple of minutes to go Egerton got an equaliser with a well taken goal
We had a penalty shootout at the end with green winning 11-7 at the end of that myself and Craig stepped up to take one each with him missing and me converting .well done all who took part great fun . Goal scorers Gift 2, Dre 1.
Player of the match was Dre for his great goal and some good football.
