The weather has ruined most of our plans for today but the BGV Juniors Tournament went ahead in Rainham. To confirm, Adult Valiants training is off as is the Sunday League home fixture with White Horse and the U15s game with Betteshanger.  Martin Wirt inspected at 6.30am and decided there was no chance of play.

Games that survived in our Sunday League division this morning
Ashford United Colts 0-7 Red Heathens
Galacticos 12-1 Kingsnorth Pilgrims
Stour Valley 7-2 Troggs Reserves

For the third week running we were honoured to stage a Festival, this time for the ADYFL U8s, and hopefully everybody had a great time. Bit nippy and overcast but we just about completed everything before the rain arrived. Sincere thanks again to the loyal band of helpers.

Another excellent performance for the U11s today away to Wye with a great 5-0 win with goals coming from Brentley Hone (2), Joe Hollamby (2) and the nippy winger Aidan Branch 1. Fantastic display by the whole team.

U12s have management change

With immediate effect, Nigel Wootton will take over the manager’s mantle and take training on Wednesday at the North School. A big thank you is extended to Barrie Castle for stepping in and keeping things together and it is pleasing to have Barrie still running the line.

U14s pipped by Biddenden – report by Rob Finn

U14s after yesterday's home game

U14s who stayed for the presentations after yesterday’s home game

Today we welcomed Biddenden to waterside the boys got off to a flying start and was 1-0 up within 10 minutes when gift got on the end of a cross from Conan and slotted home the boys pressed for a second and ilja should of made it two but fired straight at the keeper the boys were solid at the back for long spells and held the line well but on the half hour mark the boys conceded from a corner Nathan punched clear but the Biddenden striker got on the end of it and fired a shot into the top corner 1-1 and five minutes later we was behind when the ball wasn’t cleared from Nathan’s save and they scrambled the ball in somehow but once again the boys bounced straight back when Jaden got on the end of a pass from Brendan and slotted home HT 2-2 second half we started well but wasn’t clinical in front of goal with half a dozen chances missed first change of the day Oliver coming on for Jaden the boys continued to cause problems down the flanks but again the finishing touch wasn’t good enough time for a double substitution Brendan and ilja making way for Jamie and Jack . The boys went for a late winner but were denied by the Biddenden keeper on a few occasions but were caught by a counter attack which was to be the final goal from the visitors with a well taken shot final score 2-3 POTM today was George for some solid defending well done all who took part and thanks to Kevin for running the line .

Karl TerryToday was always going to be tough with our defensive options being hampered by injuries. Luke, Tobias, Miraj, Ethan all out! Olly kindly stepped in at CB for us and had a fantastic game.

Game objectives for the first half was to press hard and keep a clean sheet and we did! 0-0 at the break and a goal disallowed for offside when Liam clearly wasn’t.

Second half and Marsh scored twice against the run of play after Daniel taking a knock to the knee and not being 100% after. Olly missing a penalty. Once again not our day but … I hope you all agree … we played some great football and held our own! We put up a good spirited fight. I honestly think we had most of the possession.

My tips moving forward:

Move the ball more by passing. Defence stay tighter together. Midfield work harder than ever and control the game. When the opposition have the ball press hard and fast as a team. I am pleased as I can see improvement.

Special mentions to Dean for a good strong game. Olly for stepping in at CB for us. Dan for battling on. Sirjohn for really getting stuck in. Most importantly the team for playing as a unit and giving it a right good go!

MOTM today goes to Lewis who has played his socks off in recent games and really stepped up today, thank you. On we go guys, Faversham next.

Cheers Dunk
