The results are starting to come for the Colts … great win … well done!

Just one game in the club this weekend thanks to the weather but what a victory for our Colts, 4-1 away to Marsh Youth. Report below … well done all! Cade was Player of the Match with the Green goals provided by new signing Matt, Olly, Alfie and Ben.

Report from Duncan Randall

Today we travelled down to The Rype in Lydd to face Marsh Youth, a team who have beaten us the last 3 games!
With Luke R out once more due to illness the Captaincy fell to Cade who calmed the nerves right from the off.
Within minutes debutant Matt Head opened our account and set the standard. From here on in it was clear to see the confidence of the whole team rise.
Opportunities came and went through the first half and Marsh became frustrated.
Into the break leading 1-0.
A few changes made and straight into the second half hungry for goals, the first 10 minutes saw us increase our lead to 4-0 with goals from Olly, Alfie and Ben.
Marsh scored late on but the damage was done and the game was comfortably seen out for a 4-1 victory. The score could have been higher today.
A great game full of confidence, teamwork, dedication and determination. Not one player shirked responsibility or backed off.
100% effort was given by all today and I am very very happy.
One of the best games I have been part of in the last 6 years and 3 points that will take us from the bottom of the league.
Well done all.

Update 1pm: as far as is known, just two Division One games have survived the elements  in the Ashford & District League this afternoon (2.15pm)
Rolvenden Reserves v Folkestone Invicta Disability
Woodchurch v Biddenden

Happy birthday today to Lillie Edwards!

Well that’s plans for a packed weekend of football gone for a burton! Just one game on at present and that is the U15/16 Colts away to Marsh Youth. James will open the clubhouse on Saturday at 10.30am.

The normal listing of local league fixtures seems pretty pointless but if we hear of any games that are actually on, they will be published.

U8s trip to The Valley

Before booking, I need the exact number of players that are committed to taking part please. Also, can you let Rachel know which parents are accompanying and who is driving. The cost will be determined by the number of ‘definite’ players.  I can generate the paperwork, including consent and deposit forms, immediately once I know numbers. Many thanks DH.
