U8s teams a credit to the club … summaries from both managers
What a brilliant game of football all in good spirit – shame about the result but we really played well. Congratulations to Tom and the U8s played some good football wish u all the luck for the rest of the season. U8 Colts Player of the Match was goalkeeper Henry (left). Martyn Smith.
Dave what a game today both teams played well always moving. The under 8s done well always running for the ball back line had to work hard as Colts push the line back but good work from all the back pushing the ball up the pitch for the front players. Quick work from the front players and some great goals one of the goals was the best goal so far this season. And I would like to say well done to the Colts for never giving up. Thomas Habgood.
Sporting game with our friends from Hawkinge Youth … scroll down for goalscorers.
Under 12s report from James Porter
Very impressive showing from all players today away from home at Pilgrims despite playing with 8 players throughout the match. Every player had an impact across the pitch, with very direct attacking play especially in the second half. A special mention needed for the penalty scorer Callum who showed his quality slotting it past the opposition keeper expertly, however for sheer persistence trying over and over again to play off the last defender, scoring two goals and very close to getting a hat-trick, this week’s MOTM was awarded to Freddie Copham. Although we had the ball in the net four times, with the linesman calling the wrong person offside, the final score was 3-3. (Goalscorers: Freddie x 2, Callum x1 Pen). Thanks, James.
Under 13s report from Charlie Fletcher
Today we played Smeeth and Brabourne Eagles and had a good game. We played well but were out muscled in midfield. Our scorers were Dom 1 and Tom 2.
We had several players who could be player of the match but today it went to Lorenzo for yet another great game in defence.
Under 14s report from Rob Finn
Today we traveled to the marsh to face league leaders grasshoppers the boys started off playing some good football and were causing the opposition problems down the flanks with with Conan and ilja but some outrageous decisions cost us goal scoring opportunities as GIFT was flagged offside on three occasions when he was clearly on .a mistake from Charlie at the back cost us a goal 20 minutes into the game 1-0 but within 2 minutes we was level when lash put GIFT through who calmly slotted home 1-1 but five minutes later hoppers were awarded a penalty when PIOTR clearly won the ball but appeals from players were ignored by the ref 2-1 this certainly had an affect on the boys as just before the break conceded a third goal HT 3-1 the boys were fuming at the break about the refs decisions and to be fair so was I they was clearly affected by the way the game was officiated and seemed to have given up on the game which is not good to see and conceded a fourth goal when normally would have cleared it 4-1 but they did get a second when Ilja’s shot was deflected into the net FT 4-2
MOTM today was Piotr voted for by the parents . Regards Rob
