(regularly updated) Sunday 19 March 2017 with Nat’ural Hair

Green win with goals by Liam Dadd and Tom Messenger
A goal in each half by Liam Dadd, with a great header on the end of James Haylock-Ashdown’s cross, and a typical Tom Messenger opportunist strike, saw the Green to a 2-1 success this morning over Ashford United Colts at Waterside.

Latest report from Thomas Habgood (U8s Manager)
Today (Saturday) the players from the under 8 did very well having most of the game. we let in 3 silly goals as they only had 3 shots at goal the back line did very well . Some of the players ran well with the ball But some did not want to play the full game which was a shame as they did very well . No one scored today it was the day we could not finish off the good work we started. we lost second game so far. Thomas.

Under 12s match report from James

Difficult conditions away at Biddenden today with the wind and pitch playing a big part in what turned out to be an exciting meeting between two well matched sides.
It was a bright start from Bromley showing much of the promise from last week, matching Biddenden for the majority of the first half but even though Artjom pulled off brillant save after brilliant save, the boys were unlucky to conceed two goals on the counter attack which seemed to get to the boy’s slightly, but thankfully due to some route one football with Igor lumping it from deep in our half straight up to the in form Freddie who slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, we went into half time 2-1 down with it all to play for.
After the break, we had a good period of play in their half trying to break down what was a strong defence but to no avail then Biddenden were able to bring on many fresh legs to counter Bromley’s threat which gave them the upperhand. Again much like the first, they seemed to have a player over on the counter and  Biddenden were able to score two more in no time at all with Bromley looking tired from the continued pressing and chasing they had to do to keep up. However, a second half substitution bringing on Alfie who had been rested at half time proved fruitful, making a powerful run up the left hand side of the pitch gliding past two playeres before realising a rocket shot from just outside the area which sailed high over the opposition goalkeeper before hitting the top right hand corner of the net, getting plaudits from every person watching as well as the Biddenden team. Unfortunately this came too late in the game, and we were unable to capitalise on this pick me up with the game ending up as a 4-2 win to Biddenden.
As mentioned, the boys spent alot of the match closing down the ball, making big tackles in key areas of the pitch and creating many chances. For setting an example doing all this and more, going from box to box and leaving it all on the field this weeks MOTM goes to Kieran Black. Very proud of each and everyone of you after today!
Thanks, James.

Frankie is our Player of the Match at Staplehurst

Some encouraging signs for the U13s at Staplehurst where Frankie was our PoM

Today we played Staplehurst Monarchs and played well. It was a close game and could have gone ether way. Sam had a great half  in goal 🥅 as did Jack in the second half. Some brilliant link up between the boys for our first goal.
Scorers: Tom 1, Ben 2. Player of the match was Frankie,
