Saturday 22 April 2017: seniors win semi/U8s superb at tournament

Update … Green storm into another final

1-0 to the Green against Woodchurch as Jordan fires home hard and low

7-1 win against Woodchurch with goals from Jordan Griffin (3), Ryan Ford (2), Matt Wedge and Ashley Webster … good luck in the final boys where we face Smarden who ran 5-2 winners against a depleted Tenterden Town this afternoon.

Under 14s report from Rob Finn … no official referee again!
Today we traveled to weald wolves for the last game of the season the boys started brightly and could of gone ahead but some poor finishing let us down against the run of play the opposition were awarded a penalty which in my opinion should never have been awarded they converted the spot kick 1-0 five minutes later we should of been level but Kieron’s fierce strike was brilliantly tipped over the Bar by the wolves keeper .the boys continued to press putting some good moves together but couldn’t find the back of the net shots from GIFT lash and ilja all going wide and then Brendan put ilja through with a wonderful pass but somehow the Lino flagged offside when he clearly was on the boys were getting frustrated with some of the decisions being made and just before the break they conceded a second from some sloppy defending HT 2-0.

I had a strong word with the boys at the break and it seemed to have worked as they went out fighting in the second half and should of had a handful of goals but it wasn’t to be . The last 10 minutes was end to end stuff but weald got a 3rd goal before PIOTR headed home a lash free kick final score 3-1 MOTM today was Oliver voted for by the parents.
Bring on the tournaments now starting with Butlins next weekend.

Regards Rob
