Wednesday 10 May 2017 with Nat’ural Hair: Tournaments start this Saturday

Update: Message from Carl … sorry no training tonight for EKYL U15s

Managerial changes

The club is now able to confirm some of the managerial changes that have taken place over the past few days. Gary Gibbs, who came through the club’s youth system under his father, is taking up the role of Sunday senior manager with immediate effect; while Dave Homewood will manage the Under 14s (Under 15s next season) with coaching assistance from Mark Fuller. A  big thank you goes to Rob Finn who is standing down … but we hope he will accept another job within the youth structure. It is understood John O’Neil has quit as EKYL U10 manager but we are hoping to have a replacement in post very shortly to build the new U10s for next season. All interested U10 parents are invited to a quick get-together after training tonight as we intend to honour our two final fixtures of a fragmented league campaign. Hopefully, there is no substance in rumours of one or two players departing.

Tournaments start this Saturday

Hythe Stars & Stripes Tournament: BGFC have entered the U14 section and registration is by 12.30pm. Further details from Dave Homewood following Thursday’s training when the squad for this event will be announced. Not everyone can be picked but the aim will be to be fair and those that miss out this Saturday will take part in the next tournament.

Wye Tournament: BGFC have entered the U11 and U12 sections and registration is by 12.30pm. Further details from Sid Hone and James Porter following Wednesday and Thursday’s training when the squads for this event will be announced.
