Hastings United and Bromley Green U15s observe a minutes applause for Thomas Habgood and Irene Stafford

No lack of entertainment at Waterside with the Under 15s sharing six goals with Hastings United and the seniors coming from 5-2 behind to defeat Rye Town 6-5. On target for the Green in the morning kick off were Ilja (2), who ably demonstrated the advantages of being a two-footed player, and Kieron who kept his cool from the spot. Lots to learn still but good displays from Ben, Jordan and Ilja. Special mention for Lorenzo who played up a year but was outstanding in the second half.

Man of the match Connor Gower proved the difference in our exciting last-ditch victory with two goals against Rye with Layton Bryant grabbing the late decider. Also on target for the Green were Jordan Griffin, Tom Armstrong and a visiting defender. Green line-up: Tom M; Liam B, Josh A, Terry, Byron, Lewis, Ryan P, Tom A, Connor, Cameron, Kieran S, Josh T, Andy, Layton, James H-A.

Thanks to Neil Holmes who officiated superbly in both games today.
