Thought for the week …

Our U9s have a fantastic new Nike strip and there are more on the way with former club captain and Vice President Glenn Mackett sponsoring the Sunday seniors. Skoda Caffyns are sponsoring the Under 12s and further support is in the pipeline … watch this space! More sponsors always needed but once again we express our gratitude to those that continue to back our work in the community.

Locko and Mace last night recalling the good times

Inter-Club Friendly

Full credit to the U14s who kept their heads held high last night despite a heavy defeat by the U15s. In the early stages, prompted by Ben Seager and the runs of Lennon Spencer, the younger lads put together some excellent moves but in the final analysis the stronger team were in control. Jordan, Kai and Kieron were all amongst the goals but Charlie’s team deservedly gained a consolation score through the impressive Cameron Spencer. Great sporting attitude by both teams … well done!

Once a Green Boy always a Green Boy

Gary Gibbs has strengthened his Sunday squad with experience and back into the fold come long-time skipper Glenn Mackett, defender Martyn Dalby and scoring legend Marcus Hodges. Gary wants a big squad with work commitments now a major concern for all Sunday sides but he admits there could be a selection headache with the superb form of the youngsters. Gary, who grew up at the Green, has a long term plan to get us back into the top flight. This Sunday we welcome Appledore for the final pre-season friendly (10.30am).
