Heading the bill today is our return to competitive action in the Kent County League. We have no problem in starting out again in Division Three which looks to throw up a really tough set of fixtures (and there’s not too much long-distance travelling either!)

Today we welcome Deal Town Rangers to Waterside with a 2.45pm kick off and eagerly look forward to a sporting encounter plus, hopefully, getting some early points on the board. We have three home matches and two away during September and all support is welcome.

Fixtures today in the Kent County League Division Three (2.45pm)
AEI Sports v AFC Ashford Athletic
Aylesford v Deal Sports Reserves
Bromley Green v Deal Town Rangers
Woodnesborough v CC Sport

Earlier today, the Under 10s are away to South Ashford (10am) while Sid’s squad welcome Hastings United (10.30am).

Tomorrow Gary Gibbs and company complete their pre-season build-up with our good friends from Appledore visiting Waterside for a 10.30am kick off. Gary has assembled a big squad taking into account the heavy work commitments of several of our players. Immediately after the game we will be showing live WBA v Stoke City (1.30pm). Then, Liverpool v Arsenal (4pm).

If the U15s, U10s and U7s are serious about Butlins, there needs to be some instant positive reaction from parents please. At present, only the U8s and U13s are definitely going … I have been asking for months! With the U7s, it is accepted  that most of you are new to our club so please feel free to email me this weekend at dhomewood@yahoo.com for full details. Better still, come into the clubhouse where the players club bags and garments are waiting to be collected. I am not asking for trip money at this stage but obviously have to confirm with the organisers whether we are participating or not.
