Under 9s getting stronger all the time – report from Matt

A much improved performance by the whole team who are now trying to pass the ball around and becoming stronger and more physical. With a little bit of luck and if a few decisions actually went our way the result could have been different. Well done under 9s.

Well done Charlie … Player of the Match for the U9s

The Under 9s who impressed on Saturday

Gibbs happy with progress as Green hammer Ashford United
Goals by Connor Gower (2), man of the match Ryan Ford (3), Liam Dadd (2) and Joe Valler saw the Green to an emphatic 8-2 victory at Homelands this morning. Manager Gary Gibbs is not getting carried away but his huge squad is doing the business with promotion the main objective this season. Pick of the home side was former Green youth player Adam Heathcote at the back. Next Sunday we welcome Ashford Spartans to Waterside for another league match.

Division Three results
Ashford United 2-8 Bromley Green
Fox Sunday 0-1 Channel Cars
Givaudan 8-2 Kingsnorth Pilgrims
Sellindge Sports Club 2-2 Ashford Spartans

Great to see some returning faces on Sunday afternoon who enjoyed free food and cheap beers (and Shiraz for Mr John Lockett!)

A few of the oldies who supported the club bar on Sunday afternoon

Under 16s useful friendly performance – report by Carl Hamilton
Today we hosted Ashford United in a friendly, which gave the boys another chance to build for the league season.
The boys started the game well taking an early lead, Ryan holding off his marker well before hitting a great shot into the top left hand corner. This seem to give the boys some confidence and we started to move the ball well , with the defence also marshalling thier strikers superbly. It wasn’t long before we took a two goal lead with the best move of the match, the ball was moved through the midfield with some slick passing before being put across the face of goal and finished brilliantly by Ryan stooping to header into the far corner. We added a third before half time with the goal being all about Yonas’s determination, closing down the goal keeper which lead to a mistake allowing Yonas to tap into the net. I stressed to the boys at half time the importance of maintaining the tempo . however we started the second half slowly allowing the opposition to come into the game. Despite this we remained strong at the back and limited thier chances. The game became fragmented with a host of substitutions for both teams. We managed to add a forth goal before the final whistle , with Yonas finishing off a quick break firing high into the top left hand corner. a really pleasing days work from the boys.
It was really hard to choose a man of the match today but i’m giving it to Yonas for putting in a really strong performance and finishing his goals well.
Well done boys!

Under 15s report from Saturday by Mark Fuller

Yesterday we travelled to sevenoaks to play weald wolves red. We started off brightly with 2 early goals from ilja, we continued to dominate the game playing some nice football and not giving the other team time on the ball. Kieran then took his first goal well before going on to score 2 more to complete his Hatrick before half time. So we were 5 nil up at half time and cruising. I made a few changes bringing on Lennon, Frankie and Lorenzo into the back four. We started off the second half as we finished the first with us knocking the ball around and creating chance after chance. Then goal of the game goes to Brendan, who struck a sweet shot from the edge of the box into the top corner. Alex then had a goal disallowed for offside and to round things off Jordan went through 1 on 1 and finished off nicely to make it 7-0. And final score. An excellent performance from the whole squad. Well done boys. Mark
