Updates on a chilly Saturday … Seniors win, U15s win, Vets lose but great game

Quite an exciting day … but our Vice Chairman fell asleep!

All too much for our Shane!

Green 6-1 winners over Borough
On target for the Green this afternoon were James Haylock-Ashdown (3), Ryan Ford, Jordan Griffin and Matty Wedge. A 6-1 home victory over Woodnesborough keeps the good run going. Well done boys!

Vets take on Whitstable sponsored by CRS

BG Vets with sponsor Mark Mason of CRS before today’s match at Waterside

Fantastic spirit between the Green Vets and Whitstable Vets today with the Oystermen winning comfortably but well done to both teams … great entertainment and signs of the old magic from Matt Stanley and Mark Mason. Pity some failed to turn up as with just twelve players it was hard work! Wishes for a speedy recovery to Pat Penfold who fell awkwardly, sustaining a painful knee injury.

Happy birthday H!

U11s this morning

Happy birthday Harry

Player of the Match goes to Orlando as chosen by the referee, for his hard work in defence. Well done Orlando.

Green Under 15s stay top
A 3-1 win away to close rivals Hastings United keeps the Green Under 15s at the top of the pile. Conan Wyer was voted Player of the Match by Mark Fuller in a stop-start game on an awful playing surface in miserable weather. A free kick from Jordan Osborne with a double from Kieron Smith secured the points. Well done boys!

2-2 draw for the U12s
Two goals from Brentley as we draw 2-2 at Hopes Grove after being two goals behind at the break.

The U12s who drew 2-2 this morning

Our Player of the Match is Riley

No joy for the U13s who came a heavy cropper away to Smeeth & Brabourne. Freddie Copham netted a consolation goal for the Green.

Player of the Match for the U13s is Igor
