Under 16s report … Rhys is our Player of the Match

Well played Rhys

Today we travelled to Tankerton looking to build on our opening season point last week.
We were missing a few boys but we still had enough quality players to be positive going into the game. We started the game well and camped in their half for the first 5 minutes. On their first attack we conceded a sloppy goal completely against the run of play. From that point onwards we were dreadful and were 2nd best in all departments. At half time I wasted no time telling the boys some home truths about their performance. The boys took it on board and put in a much improved performance in the 2nd half. A combination of terrible offside decisions and bad luck prevented us getting on the scoresheet. As the half wore on we committed more forward in search of the equaliser and were caught on the break twice to make the score 3-0. The game ended with us on the end of a really disappointing result. However I was proud of the boys efforts in the 2nd half. We move on and need to remember it’s still so early in season. My player of the match today was Rhys who I thought faced with a lively forward line made a number of crucial interventions. See you on Wednesday boys.
Carl
