Green U15s hold out to go top

Conan was our PoM today as the U15s went back to the top of the table

Today we welcomed grasshoppers to waterside, with a top of table clash, the game started nervously with neither side grabbing hold of the game, and cancelling each other out. But we managed to take lead from a mistake from their defence, which jordan took well. Then we seemed to relax and began to try and play football, but it was  a scrappy game from both sides,  but we battled well, we then snuck another goal after Jordan got his second, then another quick goal from kieron made it 3 nil, but we stopped playing and grasshoppers came back at us creating a few chances, which eventually ended with them scoring, then they scored another goal pretty much straight after are kick off. So half time and we’re winning 3-2. The second half both teams had chances but didn’t take them, Nathan made some decent saves to keep us in front. Finally Jordan got his Hatrick to send us 4-2 up, but once again we conceded late on to make it a nervous last few minutes, but we managed to hold on for the win and take us back to top of the league.  A good battling performance  from all, well boys great win. Mark.

Under 10s

Today we welcomed South Ashford to Waterside a great team performance by all who took part in a very entertaining game, end to end football with some great passing and defending on show along with some quality goals scored . PoTM goes to Kieran for his hat-trick. Regards Rob .

Under 9s report from Matt Church

Another entertaining game full of goals. We raced into a lead playing with a lot of confidence taking players on aswell as trying to pass the ball around. Unfortunately a bit to confident and the score was soon different.  With some more strong attacking play and some solid defending and great goalkeeping we went ahead , and just when we started to relax a little the home team got back in the game and it was a nervous ending. Solid defending by Liam and Louis, some good passing and hard work by Ellis, Riley, Henry and Tommy and with Reegan always finding space behind the defence it was a really good performance with player of the match Charlie making some really good important saves. The goals today were scored by Ellis (2) and Riley  (2). Well done.

Always very attentive … the U9s

Ever-improving Charlie earns our PoM … well done Char!

Under 8s summary from Martyn Smith
We was away at Pilgrims this morning with a 9am ko so was a sloppy start am sure a few boys were still sleeping but then we clicked in to gear brad made a few good saves. Aiden playing really well out from the back great awareness and passes midfielders run the show and the strikers doing what they do best happy with the performance considering we haven’t played for a month but we must improve next week. We’re still unbeaten, well done boys – today’s goals from Jake direct from a corner, Brad, Seb x2 and Lucas x2. Martyn Smith. Sorry, not allowed to give the score.

U8s shaking hands before Saturday’s excellent match

Under 7s report from Trevor Strand

An entertaining game between the Under 7s and Mersham Hurricanes.
A good all round team performance from all the players who are improving and learning but more importantly appear to be enjoying their football.
At times playing in different positions the players adapted well and the two who had their turn in goal made some excellent saves.
Some good passing created scoring opportunities which is encouraging.
The game was very well refereed by Toby Furner.
Well played boys and keep up the good work.
Thanks to the parents for their support and help with putting up goals etc.
U7s Squad – Henry, Callum, Ben, Stephen, Ibrahim, Ethan, Harvey.
