[updated] Sunday 12 November 2017: Seniors win, U16s win

What a weekend! U16s win at Hawkinge
To cap off a fantastic weekend for our older groups, the U16s picked up three points from a 3-2 win at Hawkinge. Player of the Match was two-goal Cameron with Lenny completing the scoring for the jubilant Green. Two-nil down but a great come-back and we move up to fourth in the table!

Manager’s report from Hawkinge

Today we travelled to play Hawkinge Youth Colts. The first 10 minutes of the game summed up our season so far, we dominated the game and yet found ourselves 2 goals down both really sloppy goals to concede. We didn’t let this effect us and we continued to dominate the ball. We created numerous chances and mid way through the half we pulled a goal back, after some neat play in the midfield the ball broke to Lenny just inside the area who produced a cool finish under the goal keeper. This gave the boys some confidence and they continued to create chances but a combination of good goal keeping and the woodwork meant we finished the first half a goal behind. At half time I stressed to the boys just how well they were playing and to continue battling hard. This paid off when 10 minutes into the second half Ryan put in a great cross that by passed the oppositions defence with Cameron waiting at the back post to calmly tap it into the net. The boys sensed the momentum was with them and pushed hard to find the winner, the goal duly came 10 minutes from the final whistle. Cameron taking advantage of some confusion in thier defence stealing it around the goalie and slotting into the bottom corner. The final whistle blew and it was 3-2 to the Green.

Really proud of all the boys for the hard work and effort showing great determination not to give up when 2 goals down. Well done boys you got the result you deserved .
