Friday 1pm ground inspection: we should be ok for home games provided there is no overnight rain. It is obviously a bit sticky but let’s keep our fingers crossed for the drying breeze to do its work!

Pitch inspections will take place during Friday and I will consult with Grant and Brian. To keep up with what’s on and what’s off, please refer to this website which will have the official news first. DH

Birthday greetings today to our President, Chris Dorsett

Under 6s
Can parents/guardians please confirm with Alex Hebbes whether their children are available for the match on Sunday (2pm kick off at home). Alex’s number is 07740363519.

On the clubhouse TV Saturday: West Ham v Chelsea (12.30pm)

Christmas Party in the Children’s Centre on Saturday starting at 3pm. Friendly reminder that it is entry BY TICKET ONLY …. they have been on sale for over a month. Unless adults are helping with the event, they are welcome to support the bar which is open all day for hot food, snacks, drinks and of course … mince pies!

Two local derbies to whet the appetite for the senior sides this weekend with a trip to Appledore on Saturday to meet many of our old friends in the shape of Ashford FC (Les Leckie Cup, 1.30pm) and the visit of Willesborough on Sunday in the Sheber (10.30am).

Ian Mace’s line-up will depend much on injuries and work commitments while Gary Gibbs is relishing another tie against opposition from a higher devision. A break from league action could be useful on Saturday as we are not in good nick at present. Defeat at Deal Town Rangers last time out was hard to swallow and, with half of the league programme completed, we sit fifth in the table, seven points adrift of the leaders.

More familiar faces with Willesborough coming to Waterside on Sunday and Gary Gibbs is looking forward to another exciting tie against opposition from a higher division.
