Last knockings Sunday night …

Monday: U8s training at Highworth School 6pm

ADYL U15s
Most youth fixtures fell victim to the elements but at Rock Hill a useful performance by Egerton earned a 5-2 victory over visitors Biddenden. Next Saturday, Egerton come to Waterside to meet the Green (11.30am kick off).

EKYL U16s
Just a single fixture went ahead which saw Ashford United maintain their unbeaten record at the top of the table with a 1-0 success at Tankerton.

Only one game survived this morning in the Ashford & District Sunday League with Lolzors overcoming Ashford Cavaliers 2-0 in Division One. In the Ashford Charity Trophy, Aldington beat Ashford Athletic 3-1 and Grasshoppers defeated Mersham 1-0.

Update Sunday am: U16s EKYL away game with Ramsgate Trinity Colts is OFF due to waterlogged pitch (rearranged for 15 April 2018)

Latest report from Trevor (our only game in the club today)
The under 7s had a tough match at Biddenden and were up against it from the start on a heavy pitch, Ben not available through injury and 3 x “no shows”.
The first half was very one-sided to the home team who were well organised and stronger than our boys and it did show but the boys battled hard.
The second half was much better and we had our first shot of the game from a free kick which Henry scored with a good strike.
We had more of the ball and passed well at times and throw ins were excellent.
Callum and Stephen went very close with our only other shots of the game.
Summing up I was very pleased with the attitude of the boys who never gave up and the possession and territory was fairly equal but  Biddenden were stronger and their finishing was clinical.
Henry ran and tackled non stop and fully deserved his goal and his POM award.
Callum and Ethan did their best at the back and made some important tackles.
Harvey played full game in goal and made some superb saves but could not do anything about the goals scored.
Stephen and Ibrahim worked hard for the team and linked well in the second half.
Thanks to Daniel and Lee for their assistance and once again  the parents / families for their support of the boys.
Squad – Harvey , Callum, Ethan , Henry , Stephen, Ibrahim.

More from Spud
We had 6 players for today’s game against Biddenden We were unfortunately missing Ben, we wish him a speedy recovery from an accident he had at school during the week needing stitches!
The team all played well against a very strong physical side, with stand out performances from Henry ( player of the match) and keeper Harvey.
The team did some great defending and were unlucky not to score a few more goals.
Our 1 goal came from a free kick from Henry.
Thank you to all players / parents that turned out and assisted in the running of the team.
We are building a strong unit of players and good spirit between parents and it’s very pleasing to see them willing to help out on match days!
