Under 13s terrific spirit despite injuries

Praise for the Under 13s who were reduced to nine men at high-riding Rolvenden with injuries to Jake and Keiran. The boys battled bravely and were superb in the second half with Freddie notching our goal and Elliott taking the Player of the Match accolade.

Well done Ells … our PoM at Rolvenden

Congratulations David … our U10s Player of the Match

Report from Rob Finn
Saturday’s match at Park Farm was the first game for the boys in six weeks but they all got stuck in and never gave up battling and, a although nothing seemed to go our way, they showed good spirit and created chances to turn the game around but couldn’t convert them. Some of the refs decisions were debatable which didn’t help our cause. Nothing we can do about that – but I thought we were the better footballing side.

Report from Martyn Smith
At last a game of football and what a good game it was we welcomed Park Farm to our ground this morning with 10 players we gave 20 mins to each of the boys considering we haven’t played for so long we knocked the ball around well kept posession hammering on their door but their keeper was superb and then out of nowhere their defender cleared the ball looping over brad before half time.

2nd half same again in the end the pressure paid off and a very pestering Jake, who never gave up, blasted his way past a defender and slotted the ball calmly into the bottom right hand corner. Very impressed with all the lads and a great performance from our new keeper Alfie Tomkins as it was his 1st game and a clean sheet. Squad today: Alfie, Brad, Joe, Callum, Aiden, Cyrus, Tyler, Jake (potm), Lucas, Sebastian.

U15s blow title hopes
The worst display of the season saw the U15s crash 5-1 at home to Egerton & Pluckley and manager Mark Fuller admitted the title is no longer achievable. Well done to our visitors but this was not a game to remember from the Green standpoint!

Let’s have a good level of support to cheer the lads on as they attempt to win their 5th round tie in what could well be our biggest test of the campaign to date.
