Update 10.15pm Friday: EKYL U16s away game with Herne Bay is now OFF … this leaves us with not a single match across the whole club this weekend!
KDFL message following Sunday’s Junior Tournament cancellation
‘After taking school holidays into account and the fact that it simply does not make sense in running back to back tournaments we have decided NOT to reschedule this tournament. All other tournaments will be played on originally arranged dates.’ Brian Gray
Well done to those who trained Thursday night indoors at Norton Knatchbull!
No point in crying in our milk over the games called off this weekend … not much point either in me providing the usual local fixture lists! But let’s hope some matches go ahead.
Not heard any news about the U16s away fixture with Herne Bay on Sunday (whether it has survived or not) but everything else in the club on both days – matches, tournaments and training – is OFF.
If we can’t stay warm, let’s try and stay positive although I know a large number of you are cheesed off with the lack of matches. Parents, please do try and attend training sessions with the little ones [especially when sessions are indoors]. Several young players have still to take their sponsored penalties … new dates/times will be arranged with the managers.
Good news for the U11s is that Jay Preston has recovered from his broken hand and intends to resume training with Grant on Wednesday. Note: due to the conditions, there will be no U11s training on Saturday.
The club is in the very early stages of discussing a possible twinning arrangement and, as soon as more information is available, the idea will be put to our teams.
For Butlins, the U8s are full but we still have room for one more U13 player and two more supporting adults after one or two have let us down. All paid for and it is now first come, first served for the final places. Some owe bits of money, so can you settle soon please. Payments by BACS to account number 10203874 sort code 20 02 62 with reference Butlins/name. We leave the club at 9am on Friday 18 May and return Monday 21 May. All concerned will have one more get-together in the near future to finalise arrangements.
