Sunday night last knockings … into Monday

Monday
Clubhouse opens 6pm. Reminder that we have a Youth Meeting at 7.15pm and all youth sides are asked to be represented. Any manager that cannot make it, please ensure a deputy attends. It won’t go on late and parents are particularly welcome.

Ties
Anyone with a club tie they don’t need for next weekend, can you please let Gary Gibbs know … or, even better, bring to the clubhouse Monday if possible between 6pm and 9pm. Our new batch will not be here in time so your cooperation would be really appreciated. Reminder that seats on the coach to Sunday’s final have to be reserved … there is only about ten places remaining. Players and management are free.

Training is ON for the U8s at Highworth on Monday 6-7pm.

Seniors and U16s that may wish to progress into adult football next season are encouraged to attend training at Highworth on Tuesday 6-7pm. Email dhomewood@yahoo.com if you require more details.

U16s in mudbath stalemate
Credit to both teams in the EKYL U16 match at Waterside on Sunday afternoon where Bromley Green and Monkton had to settle for a point apiece from a goalless draw. Perhaps taking everything into consideration, a draw was a fair outcome from an entertaining affair in atrocious conditions underfoot. The visitors had their keeper to thank for a very impressive display while a mention for Jordan Osborne is in order as he stood in between the posts and kept a blank sheet. Lewis Gower, Lewis Chalk and Lenny Russell were arguably the Green’s most influential players on the day. Carl’s match summary to follow.

Sunday Seniors win 7-1
Goals from Player of the Match BJ Valler 4 (2 pens), Kieran Shrimpton, Layton Bryant and  Ryan Ford saw the Green to a 7-1 win over Sellindge at Waterside this morning. Good work-out as Gary Gibbs prepares for next week’s cup final with old friends Fox Sunday.
