Solid win for the firsts this morning and an encouraging display by the seconds who really deserved some reward from their 2-1 defeat away to Lolzors Reserves. Thanks to all those senior players/management who supported the clubhouse today … it’s what makes it worthwhile. Thanks to all those who helped me with the bar!
Manager’s summary of the 6-0 victory over AFC Guildhall
Today’s game could have been a banana skin against an organised side. 30 minutes in it looked like a tough game as we missed a hatful of opportunities when on 35 minutes an 18-yard slice of the shin pad found the roof of the net. This opened the floodgates as we quickly followed up with goals from Shrimpton and another 30-yarder from Gower. Second half saw two quick goals from the hard working birthday boy Ryan Ford. Finished off by a nod-in header from Chopper Trott. Man of the match went to Matthew Wedge who I think is growing up and not getting involved in unnecessary crap 👍🏻

The Sunday Reserves considered themselves very unlucky to come away pointless from the trip to The Ridge to meet Lolzors Reserves. Jack Hollamby netted for the much-improved young Green lads who also missed a penalty. The management team were delighted with the effort by the boys and the future is looking bright.
Birthday greetings Sunday to Ryan Ford!

Under 9s DVA summary from the New Romney Tournament
This morning we travelled to New Romney for the league tournament. I have to say we played some lovely football, winning our group with 3 wins and 1 draw scoring 8 and only conceding 1. Team had a great togetherness helping each other out. With Zak in goal diving at players feet to get the ball and pulling of great saves, Aedan up front working hard to get the ball back for us, William at the back was a rock do not think any player got past him today, Gerrard with his great skill on the wing and work rate, Riley in the middle of midfield getting the tackles in and showing great skill on the ball, Alfie with his great left foot putting some lovely passes together, Rhys playing out of possession but putting in a great individual performance as not completely comfortable playing on the wing and up front, for my son and captain Jack (I am his biggest critic) he was amazing and I am proud to say that’s my boy getting 4 goals today and running his legs off for the team as always.
We were without Aldy and Keane both missed today.
I would also like to thank all the parents for bringing the kids along to games, training and letting me have the pleasure of teaching them football.

Happy and proud manager of Bromley Green U9 DVS

Under 11s report from the manager (not allowed to give the score)
Today we welcomed Pilgrims to Waterside which was to be a thrilling game with end to end stuff; but missing some key players told as the boys struggled to convert the chances which they need to take against teams like this. An off day but need to pick themselves up for an even tougher game next week – not allowed to give score let’s just say I wasn’t impressed and can’t rely on certain players. PoTM today goes to Ben for some solid defending
Cheers Rob
Under 10 Colts improving all the time … not allowed to give the score

Matt Church with the U10s today

Clubhouse open today 8am with Leah-Ann
Would any parent or friend of the club like to represent us at the Carol Service planning meeting on Tuesday 16 October at 7pm at the Salvation Army Hall, Cudworth Road, South Willesborough? Please let Dave Homewood know if you are willing/able. The service is non-denominational and some of our children attend each year.
Have fun all those playing or training today and good luck to the U9s in their ADYFL tournament at New Romney
