First team stunning performance in the Bodkin Cup to beat Nailbox 3-1 at sunny Waterside with goals Richard Floyd, Jamie Hurst and Reece Chapman. Player of the Match Connor Gower. Welcome back to former Green boy Robbie Greenfield.

A Conan Wyer goal seemed to set us on the way at Mersham but it all went wrong and the home team went through 5-1 in the Kent Sunday Cup. Good luck to Mersham in the next round. Some good performances from our youngsters as we continue to be patient and plan for the future.

Report from Gary Gibbs on today’s Bodkin Cup victory

What another great team performance. On a pitch what had more lines on it than a A4 school piece of paper(but none for our pitch🤔🤬). Starting off very strong and hard working and was on top for 88 minutes of the game. About 20 minutes in hard work from Chapman and munch paid off when they closed down their back row and left munch 1-1 who calmly slotted home. Second half saw much of the same with the old guard central midfield dictating the game. It was a long ball over the top which left the mean machine Chapman in with the goal keeper who he obviously went through as well to tap home. 80 minutes in a cross find its way to Casper who tapped in from a yard. Pleased to announce the return of tad greenfield who with others in the squad is giving Gary a headache which he don’t mind having because when playing well it’s a joy to manage. The only downside of the day is we gave away a cheap penalty in the 88th minute which upset Louis because of he likes a clean sheet (Trotty). They gave mom too gower 😂 because they thought he was tremendous at running the line 😜.

Congratulations Alfie … our U11s McDonald Player of the Match

Today we made the short trip to Kennington to face TSS which was to be a tough game but the boys settled quickly and caused the opposition all sorts of problems with the defence winning everything thrown at them and the midfield and strikers also top class. Well done to the goal scorers today Matteo, Sam, Thomas, Kieron and Harrison with a well taken penalty. Was a hard decision today for PoTM but it goes to Alfie for some solid defending. You’re all working hard as a team now keep up the good work and you will go far when we go competitive next season. Well done all that took part today. Regards Rob
