Photo and report from U9s DVS manager Dean Mansfield
This morning we travelled out to West Farleigh Orcas for our league game. Never played them before so did not know what to expect from them. Turns out the only problem was the size of the pitch as was more like a 5 aside pitch. This made for a very tight game with both teams not getting any time on the ball. Lots of tackles going in from both teams but all fair. It was a brilliant game from both teams played in the right way and we had a very enjoyable morning (and we missed all the rain lol). We have the pleasure to welcome them to Bromley Green next weekend looking forward to it already. William getting my player of the match award putting in some great tackles at the back. One happy manager win, lose or draw to see happy kids playing football makes giving up a little of my time all worth it.
Disappointment for U16s and U14s
The day started on the wrong foot when the Under 16s received notice of postponement from Weald Wolves Red that their pitch was flooded. We offered to host the match but no luck there. Things became worse with what can best be described as a lack-lustre display by the Under 14s who ended up losing their cup tie 9-0 to Biddenden. In all honesty, we were poor on the day but wish good luck to the Den in the next round.
U11s summary by Rob Finn
Not a very good day for the U11s at Great Chart with the boys lacking energy and struggling from the first whistle. To be honest it was like watching a different team as they didn’t seem to have any interest in the game. Alfie and Harrison made a good effort at the back along with Preston in goal who made some good saves it was not until we was 4-0 down they made an effort and Matteo scored twice one was spectacular from about 20 yards out and the other a fine strike from just outside the box. But it was all in vain as Pilgrims snatched 2 more goals to put the tie beyond us with the score being 6-2 which was to be the final score and end any cup hopes. There seems to be issues with certain players within the squad and this will be addressed at training on Wednesday.
Under 9s report from Martyn Smith
A short trip away to South Ashford after our collapse last weekend we was eager to put things rite and we sure did we set off to a flyer every 1 listen and kept concentration for the full game such proves to be needed couldn’t ask for anything more from the boys every1 gave 100% every single 1 of them deserved player of the game but only 1 could be picked which was Joe by a pal and assistant manager of market hotel well done team Alfie Joe Callum Fred Tj Tyler Jake (c) Olly Brad.
Message from Trevor Strand
U9 Colts parents please wash kit and return at training at the North School on Tuesday. Brian and myself took the squad today with no manager and they were a credit to the club during the minutes silence. They played their hearts out and did well. Trev
