Under 16s beat leaders to earn their Corn

Result of the day on Saturday has to go to the Under 16s for a superb 2-1 success against table-toppers and jinx team Headcorn at Waterside. Solid all round squad performance with the scores coming from Ilja Seleznovs and skipper Conan Wyer. Special mention for young defenders Frankie Cumpper and Lennon Spencer who did Mark Fuller proud. Player of the Match accolade went to keeper Kieron Smith. Next Saturday the squad make the short trip down the A28 to Hopes Grove to meet High Halden Hornets.
Under 14s
A well-drilled goal by Toby Galton brought the Green Under 14s level at 1-1 but a series of unforced errors saw visitors Smeeth & Brabourne take the spoils. Nicole wasn’t too impressed – but onwards and upwards and time to prepare for the visit of Grasshoppers next Saturday.

Under 11s report from Rob Finn
Today we welcomed Mersham to Waterside which is always a good fixture and both teams didn’t disappoint with some great football on show, end to end stuff and both keepers making a string of fine saves. The impressive opposition keeper also saved a well-taken penalty. Well done to both sides for a very entertaining game and a big well done to Matteo for getting PoTM voted by the Mersham manager. Keep up the good work.

Under 9 Colts report from Trevor Strand
The Under 9 Colts produced their best performance of the season away to Charing who also played their part in what was a very entertaining game. First half The Green created several good goalscoring chances through some fine passing play and also defended very well and Jae Jar in goal made some excellent saves. Second half again was very even with end to end football from both teams. Changes were made throughout the game as they tired and to give all the boys game time which is vital in their development. It is clear to see how the boys are improving and gelling on and off the pitch and they have a good team spirit. Cannot give the score or scorers but it was a very even game from the two teams. Thanks to the parents and grandparents for the tremendous support and they are all a credit to the club and Brian for all his help on the day. Well played boys and see you at training Tuesday. Squad – Jae Jae, Tommy, Callum, Frankie, Mel, Daniel, Oliver, Leo, Cyrus, Aiden.

Under 8s make it three victories on the spin
Manager Bobbie Joseph is over the moon with the Under 8s who made it three wins on the spin. Can’t give the scorers names but excellent fare from all the squad … well done!
