Beautiful weather but the match featuring Lydd Grasshoppers and Bromley Green Reserves at The Rype on Sunday is OFF. The Hoppers have contacted our secretary and there is no referee available.
The firsts welcome Burton Grove in the Division Two Cup (10.30am)
BGFC Under 9 Colts
Top show by the Under 14s
There was some terrific football on display across the age groups at Waterside this morning; but pride of place goes to the Under 14s who avenged an early-season mauling by Grasshoppers to come back from a goal down to win the return encounter 4-1. Player of the Match went to new boy Danny Clarke but it was a solid all-round performance topped by doubles from Alfie and Freddie. Incredibly, we have just one league match remaining which is next Saturday (meet in the clubhouse 8am).
Under 12s with Grant Turner
Under 11s great tussle with Wye Whites
Today we welcomed Wye Whites to Waterside which was to be a great game the boys started strongly and were playing some nice football and it paid off our opponents also contributed to the match with a good display which see both keepers making fine saves and some solid defending making it a great game to watch well done all that took part and a big well done to Sam for getting PoTM voted by the Wye manager who stated it could have been several players but Sam caught his eye with his powerful runs and shooting ability well done. Cheers Rob
Dean Mansfield on the Under 9DVS
This morning we welcomed Pilgrims to Waterside Sports centre. We had the sun shining it was a great morning for football. Both teams played great football and also played in the right way. It was a pleasure to watch the game today and shows kids football in Ashford is at a very good standard. My man of the match went to Keane who was like a rock in the middle of midfield, but I have to say that all kids put in a great shift. Well played today Bromley Green DVS and Pilgrims.
U8 Colts report from Pat Penfold
It was a lovely sunny morning at aterside where the under 8 Colts played Wittersham it was a great game of football for the Colts we had no defenders today so the team done really really well and Harvey was man of the match and a big thank you to the referee today Mr Spencer who refereed a great game
Under 7s still smiling despite a bit of a run-around!
Update from under 7s friendly despite the result I saw positives, Park Farm’s manager said that he thought we passed the ball well for only our 4th friendly. On another day we play better and will get a result. Overall we created chances but need to work on defending that will come from games.
Well done to everyone who played despite not having the best of games. Well done to our man of the match Jacob and for everyone trying. Alex Hebbes.
