Peoples Cup mixed fortunes for the Green but we go out
Aaron Maul reports from the People’s Cup in Gillingham
First match was against Anchorians and was a relatively easy game. We were on top throughout and hardly looked pushed. Stewart got two goals, Cam got three, Grant got one and Toby six! Final score 11-0.
Second game was against Maidstone and once again another game which never looked in doubt. Stewart got one more Grant got three and Cam got himself five. They did score three goals throughout the match however, but in the end it didn’t matter. 9-3 final score.
Third game was the same as the first one, another game where everyone wanted a goal. It seemed possible as well as we looked to match other teams winning big. Toby got one, Grant got four, Cam got five and Aaron popped up with one at the end. Final score 11-0
Fourth game was going to be our first real test and toughest game of the day. It really showed, as we became the team under pressure and conceded goal after goal, not much more to be said we lost 6-0.
Last game we were playing for pride as it was already over by this point. However, we still wanted the game and held our own for a while, but we cracked over and over like the last game. They scored five and we could only reply with one consolation goal at the end through Cam. Final score 5-1
Many thanks Aaron
