Thrilling Charity Trophy semi-final – but firsts beaten

Gary Gibbs reports on an entertaining cup tie with Market

A close fought ACT semi-final cup tie with both sides missing chances in the opening period. Market scored first when a cross was put in by our own player Joe Valler and scored again five minutes into the second half with another set piece.

We then got one back in the 75thminute with a break down the right with Ryan Carter slotting home. In the 80thminute Kieran Shrimpton equalised direct from a corner. Market then scored a third but we quickly equalised through Luke Burdon from close range. The decisive goal came from ex-Green striker Gary Lockyer.

Nice to see a good crowd and thanks to Jamie for coming and enjoying himself.

The Reserves played well away to Ashford United but finally went down 4-2 at The Ridge. Details to follow …
