Green win Sunday League Division Two title
Congratulations to Gary Gibbs and the squad on winning the title and promotion to Division One without having to kick a ball for the showdowns with Aldington who opted not to play. Gibbs conceded “This is not the way I wanted to top the table but well done to the lads who thoroughly deserve to take the title. We are now looking forward to next season”.
Goalkeeper training today 5pm with Grant Turner
All training is as per the schedule Thursday night except U9 Colts who had a game last night (any details or photos anyone?)
Rob Finn reports on a 3-1 win at New Romney for the U11s
Tonight we travelled to New Romney for a friendly and what a great game it was we had never played this team before the boys played some lovely football and was rewarded with a goal 20 minutes in when Daniel slotted home a pass from Sam the defence of Alfie Harrison and Preston were solid and just before the break Daniel made it 2 when he went on a solo run and fired home New Romney created a few chances and got a couple of shots in but Charlie dealt with them well second half Matteo made it 3 with a fierce shot but five minutes from the end we conceded a sloppy goal -1 – 3 which was to be the final score well done to Charlie Alfie Preston Harrison Sam Daniel Thomas Kavalli Kris Matteo all played excellent POTM went to Daniel for an excellent performance and getting 2 goals.
Cheers Rob
