Rob Finn reports on yesterday’s friendly at Waterside

Today we welcomed Whitfied to waterside and what a cracking game it was with both sides playing some excellent football against the run of play we found ourselves 0-1 down in the opening 15 minutes but replied straight away when Alfie got on the end of Sam’s through ball and fired a lovely shot from outside the box into the top corner of the net 1-1 that settled the boys and Sam went on a solo run and was taken down in the box and was awarded a penalty which he took but sent the spot kick wide of the goal the boys picked themselves up after that and soon took the lead from a in swinging corner which Kris got on the end of and fired home 2-1 Whitfied came straight back at us and just before the break got an equaliser 2-2 HT  the scores were level but we soon took the lead again five minutes into the second half when Thomas fired home from Daniels pass 3-2 the game was getting very exciting now with great football and Whitfied got a deserved equaliser 3-3  the teams were both going for it with Charlie making some excellent saves when called upon likewise with the opposition keeper the boys put some good passing moves together and it paid off Sam undone the defence getting on the end of a pass from Kris and firing home 4-3 both teams were starting to tire now but we looked the stronger side in the closing stages with attack after attack and Thomas sealed the victory when he beat the offside trap and fired home 5-3 Elizabeth Michael and Daniel were solid at the back but the whole team put a shift in so well done to Charlie Alfie Daniel Sam Thomas Kavalli Harvey Kris Elizabeth and Michael proud of you all final score 5-3 thanks to Whitfied for an entertaining game and to Damion for reffing and James doing the line. Rob Finn.
