Birthday greetings today to Peter Ceglarski!
You win some, you lose some!
Another encouraging performance by the Sunday firsts who overcame the challenge of Golden Arrow to the tune of 6-2 this morning in a pre-season friendly. On target for the Green were Jamie Hurst, Kieran Shrimpton, Tom Collins, Jordan Griffin (2) and Matt Burdon. Special mention for referee Gary Gibbs.
On the adjacent pitch, a strong Lolzors outfit proved too powerful for the Reserves who went down 4-1. Consolation goal for new signing Charlie Wallis and good performances from keeper Kieran Smith and Lewis Sheldon-Smith.
Next Sunday, Sid has arranged for a mixed seniors squad to play Ashford Cavaliers (meet clubhouse 9.30am). On the same morning, we have the BGV Adults at home to Canterbury City with a 10.30am start.

Two home games this morning with the firsts welcoming our old rivals from our Folkestone League days, Golden Arrow; while the reserves meet Lolzors. Some new faces in both camps. Kick offs are at 10.30am.
Meanwhile, training is on for BG Valiants Adults and Juniors at the usual times
Timmy Russell reports on the U12s Utilitas success
We travelled to Appledore to play one of our league opponents this coming season. We started well and the passing began to flow freely, seeing us to 4-1 up at half time as we played some excellent football. We finished up 9-1 winners with Kieran Branch scoring four, Phoebe Cowley three and Williams Spiers two. The McDonalds PoM award was split between Kieran and Phoebe. A great display by all and looking forward to the season. Well done and keep it up.
