Under 14 BG Girls report from Steve Sutton
The U14 Girls started their home campaign today at Waterside with the visit from Anchorian Sapphires.
The game started very brightly with the girls taking the kick off and applying early pressure straight away camping the visitors in their box, when the ball fell to Ella in the box who rifled it home with 38 seconds on the clock.
The home side created more pressure and were virtually camped in the opposition half for the most of the first half.
On 12 minutes with pressure mounting the ball bobbled in the box allowing Chloe to stab home the ball to get the second of the game. The Teams third was scored 3 minutes later when again another bobbling ball in the box was slotted home, this time by Jess.
The rest of the half saw the home side create various opportunities but were unable to make them count. The away side managed to venture in to the home sides half on a few occasions, were Lily in goal was a match to any effort that came here way.
The start half started off differently, with the away more cohesive and attacked the home side for the first 10 minutes, but the defence was resolute, with both Nicole and Joanna imposing in their duties and forming a great partnership, supported by Amelia.
The Home side grew into the second half after weathering the storm and created a number of chances that either went wide or were saved well by the keeper. Midway through the half one last chance was scored by Chloe giving herself a brace for the game and completing the score line of a 4-0 home win.
Great performance today girls, let’s keep it rolling!
Under 15s great comeback from two down to draw
Joe Burden and Craig Clifford star as Green win local derby 4-1
BGFC Saturday seniors emerged victors in their local derby with Pilgrims at Great Chart but in all honesty, if the home team had not been so profligate in front of goal, it could have been a somewhat different story. Youth lads Piotr Ceglowski and Ilja Seleznous played their first Saturday adult matches and were superb; while Craig Clifford at the back and Joe Burden in midfield led by example. Fine stops by Kieran Smith kept the home team at bay when they should have forced a close scoreline. The goals came from Ryan Carter, Richard Floyd, Jordan Osborne (pen) and Connor Friday. Full marks to referee Darren Whipps. Green starting line-up: K Smith; P Ceglowski, C Clifford, R Floyd, C Friday; K Friday, J Burden, I Seleznous, J Osborne, R Carter, C Wallis. Well done to both teams for a good sporting tussle with Dan Woodcock, despite a booking, showing his strength at the back for Pilgrims.
Terrific, gutsy comeback from the Under 15s whose new-look management team and squad earned a 2-2 draw with Mersham at Waterside. All the details to follow from Jez. Welcome back to Ben Seager who marked his return with both Green goals. Well done stand-in keeper Aleks and Player of the Match Elliott Grace.
BGFC Under 14s Away Hythe Town Another cracking performance from Sid’s squad … well done. Joe Clarke PoM. Another great all round performance from the team with some terrific play and good goals from Joe Clark, Jack Matthews, Brentley Hone and Alex White as we won 6-0.

Under 10 Warriors Home Ashford United
Under 10 DVS Home West Farleigh Penguins Great show by the DVS boys.
The match report for under 10s DVS yesterday
Home – West Farleigh Penguins. Not our best game of the season yet we still put in a strong performance. We started off a little slow but as the game grew so too did the boys and we had several of our players getting on the scoresheet this week which was great to see.
Rhys was our PoM. Strong in defense and solid in the other positions he played in and he’s really started to step up a level this season
As the game went on we became more confident and more settled and started to play our game, passing the ball around and working hard for one another as a team.
A solid performance in the end and we look forward to next week.
Under 10s (Peter) Away Park Farm Rangers Colts – superb display with PoM Patrik showing his potential. Report to follow.
Under 9s Home West Farleigh Great game with both teams deserving credit. Our PoM went to hat trick hero Samuel but once again it was the squad effort that made the difference. Sorry can’t give the score. Special mention for Damion Truelove who stood in with little notice as we had no appointed referee again.
Under 9 Hurricanes Home Pilgrims Alex is happy
Today we came up against a very strong Pilgrims side who we have met on a few occasions. The first half I thought we totally dominated, but came away with no reward. In the second half it was end to end with Tyler putting away two fine goals and also our defence standing strong . It was a great TEAM performance today with everyone contributing to a great game.
Congratulations to Thomas for Parents Player of the Match.
Under 8 Dream Team Home South Willesborough Tony and Damo smiling
So we were playing South Willesborough in only their 2nd game a very new start up team, who have only had a weeks training.
We started the game very quick getting an early lead to build on.
I was very happy with the attitude of the players when winning they still wanted to create and add goals to their name.
3 wins out of 3 now on to the tournament with confidence high.
Special mention to Billie~Joe and Noah for both going in goal and showing the team spirit of the Dream Team. Also thank you Bobby for helping sort out the set up and being ref again!
Now scoring 31 goals in 3 game.
Goal scorers Kai 7, Bubba 7, Archie 3 and Dexter 1.
