U9 Hurricanes tournament report from David Bridge
Squad: Alfie, Thomas, Nathaniel, Louis, Tyler , Ethan, Sean, Charlie, Owen, Daniel and Ibrahim
Another good tournament performance from Hurricanes at the wet and windy Respect League Tournament in Charing. In difficult conditions the team continued to play football the way we know they can. The team has really learned to defend resolutely but also have the confidence to bring the ball out from the back. This combined with the continued passing game meant the team topped the group with 3 wins and 1 draw. With 5 goals scored (Alfie 2, Ibrahim 2 and Tyler 1) and zero goals conceded this was a real team performance to top the group.
A great game in the semi- final saw the boys take the lead against Headcorn but was unfortunately pegged back in the last few minutes. Chances continued to flow at both ends with posts being hit but eventually ended in a draw. It then went to the dreaded penalties and unfortunately this time the team was on the losing end. However, they win together, lose together.
Difficult to pick out any individuals with such a strong team performance but special mention to Ibrahim for getting his first goals for the Hurricanes. Proud parents and coaches again tonight boys – well done š
