U12s McDonalds praised by manager after a gallant effort against a strong Pilgrims side
Rob Finn, whilst disappointed with a 5-3 defeat at home to a strong Pilgrims side, was full of praise for the U12s McDonalds squad who showed great spirit. Kris Kostov was Player of the Match with the goals scored by Sam, Daniel and Alfie. Here is the manager’s report:
Today we welcomed Pilgrims to Waterside and despite the weather conditions it was a great game of football end to end stuff and we took a well deserved lead after some good link up play and Alfie slotting home past the keeper 1-0 the boys pressed for a second and it nearly came but the keeper kept Sam’s fierce shot out but a mess up at the back cost us and Pilgrims equalised 1-1. It was end to end stuff with both teams creating chances but against the run of play we fell behind 1-2 but not for long just before the break Sam finished off a great move and fired home 2-2 HT.
Second half saw more good football and we should have been in front as chances went begging and Pilgrims got a 3rd with a wonderful strike 2-3 and 5 minutes later got a fourth 2-4. Then Daniel pulled another one back 3-4 but 5 minutes from the end Pilgrims snatched the points when they got a 5th final score 3-5. A big well done to all that played and to Kris for getting PoTM Cheers Rob
Under 12s Utilitas great game with New Romney ends all square
A free kick by Harrison Petken earned the Green a 1-1 draw at home to our friends from New Romney at a busy and wet Waterside. Congratulations to Josh Bailey (above), our Player of the Match. Full report below
Sent from my Match report B G utilitas u12s v new romney match result 1,1
Under poor conditions we played another top 3 team and soon we bossed the game in midfield we was winning all the ball and solid at the back unlucky not to have been 1 up at the break half time 0 0, second half and timmy won a free kick just outside new Romney’s box, harrison fired a solid shot into the top of the net we had new romney pegged back until 5 mins left and they got a deflected goal.
kieran was a threat out wide from the start and is showing his true ability and getting stronger, great runs from midfield from preston timmy and charlie into the danger areas, william bit unlucky not to have been free in on goal a couple of times, harrison solid as always at the back ben making progress quickly at wing back with some threatening runs josh was great at left back and arilas showing real signs of keeping the number 1 jersey
Well done team proud of yer all mom josh for a solid performance
Under 11s at Smarden do well with goals from Charlie and Liam … more to follow from Dennis
Under 9s … well done the 5 that turned up!
Under 8s Dream Team in super form
Goals from Archie (3), Kai (3) and Bubba (3) … not allowed to give the result but well done to all the squad.
Match day report against Tenterden Tigers U8s, just wanted to say firstly amazing turn out as always even in these conditions.
Solid performance from back to front obviously for under 8s it’s all about game time and development and I have to say I am very impressed with how these kids are developing more and more as team.
To see 4 to 5 pass moves leading to goals and to have the awareness in such a quick paced game to look up and spot a team mate shows how they are grasping the team spirt of the Dream Team.
Huge congratulations to all the kids for listening and improving week by week, keep up the good work Dream Team.
Happy coaches Tony & Damo
Under 9 Hurricanes
A great battling performance from the U9s Hurricanes today and it felt like we played in hurricane conditions at Kennington. Congratulations to Alfie (above) for David’s Player of the Match.
Kennington Juniors Reserves v Bromley Green Hurricanes U9s
A great performance from the Hurricanes in what felt like a hurricane this morning. The team tried to continue the good football they have been playing despite the wind and rain. In a difficult first half against the wind the team twice came from behind with goals from Tyler and Ibrahim. The second being a cleverly worked free kick that amazed even us coaches watching on.
With the wind behind us in the second half the team continued to play well. Tyler managed to complete another hat trick with Ethan scoring his first goal for the season with a well taken finish before Sean wrapped up the scoring.
It was a real battling performance in really difficult conditions but the team showed they were happy to ‘dig in’ and none more so than Alfie. Comfortable at the back defending strongly but also at ease bringing the ball out of defence to start our attacks.
U10s tournament apparently called off this afternoon
