Table-topping BG Girls turn it on the Cup with 6-0 success against Chats
The U14 Girls were at home in the second round of the Winston League Cup, to Chatham Town form Division 1.
The girls started off slowly, having not played for some weeks, but got into their stride dominating the half creating numerous chances and grabbing a 5-0 lead at half time.
The second half was not as exciting as the team was shuffled around and they got another goal in the second half to win 6-0 and progress to the quarter finals of the cup. Goal scorers were a hat trick from captain Jess Murphy with the others split between Ella Roper, Chloe Lloyd and Grace Gay.

Still waiting for reports from some teams this weekend but here are a few more details
On target in Southborough as the Green sailed past Armada were Pat Kingwell, Kieran Shrimpton, Matt Burden and Luke Burden.
The Green double was completed by the Sunday Reserves with Brad Osborne (2), Jordan Osborne and Sam Ades with (in his words) a 40-yarder on the mark against Pilgrims. Pilgrims replied via an own goal and Steve Warren.
U12s EKYL out of sorts at Herne Bay
We never adapted to the 3G Charlie stops another one!
Green first half attack 1-1 then it all went wrong
No excuses for our hiding but in fairness to the boys we were not expecting a 3G surface; even less there being no changing rooms, technical areas, respect barriers. Add the confusing blue lines, and one gets an idea of our day out at the seaside! But we will learn from the defeat and credit to the lads for never giving up. A defensive error put us behind but a lovely lob from Kris Kostov brought us level. An unsighted Charlie couldn’t be blamed for the Bay second strike on the stroke of half time. As for the second period, let’s just say we were off colour! A positive was the promise shown by Rieyaan who will be a super player … just have some belief and get stuck in! With some of the boys it is still about just that, belief, and adding a physical edge to their game. We go again next week in the hope of picking up our early-season form when visiting Thanet United Colts.
