Urgent Message from Dave Spencer: BGV training at Great Chart on Wednesday is OFF as coaches have other commitments … sorry
Monday is here and training is as normal at Pitchside tonight … but first a summary of a packed weekend of highs and lows … more photos to follow …
Two senior matches survived the weather with the Saturday seniors moving through in the Ashford Charity Trophy and the Sunday reserves too strong for Charing Reserves in their Divisional Cup tie.
BG Girls win thrilling cup match to extend unbeaten run
The U14 Girls were away to Ex Blue in their Divisional Cup game. The girls went full of hope, to try and continue their unbeaten run. The pitch was heavy, like most pitches at the moment, but from the kick off made light work of it, keeping the home team camped in their own half for most of the first 15 minutes, which saw Grace and Anya combining well on the left wing, with a cross into the box which Ella buried form 12 yards. Two minute later Ella found herself again about 12 yards out with the ball at her feet, with the same outcome. Half time score 2-0. The second half saw the home team more involved in the game and pressing higher up the pitch and applying pressure to the Green Girls. In the 48th minute a great piece of ball control skill saw Anya break through the back line and cooling slotting home form 8 yards. Again the score was increased 2 minutes later, with some great combination play involving 4 players, including the goal scorer Anya. The last 20 minutes or so saw the girls under pressure when reduced by one player, only conceding 2 real chances with one of those hitting the woodwork. Joanna was immense again at the back ably assisted by Amelia and Nicole in different periods. Also both wingers, Captain Jess and Anya ran their socks off harrying the defenders and making it hard for the opposition to get the ball away at times. Another great team performance with the Girls looking to play the ball really well and use the space of the pitch to their advantage. Keep it up girls. Steve Sutton
U18s – “… best opposition I have seen” Green manager Dennis Monk

A consolation goal from Ilja Seleznous proved little comfort to the Under 18s whose cup run came to an abrupt end at Deal on Sunday. The cause was not helped with players turning up late … but good luck to Deal Town Rangers in the next round. Dennis was full of praise for the victors. Player of the Match Kieron Smith (above).
Spirited display by depleted U12s EKYL away to Thanet United
Plenty of praise for the lads, down to the bare 9 players and three of them carrying injuries! We found it heavy going and were 2-0 down after a first half during which we didn’t create a single chance of note. Terrific spirit in the second period and, with a little luck and more composure in front of goal, the outcome could have been so different. A wonderful free kick by our PoM Thomas (below) gave us hope but a penalty at the other end sealed our fate. Nothing is going our way at the moment and the ridiculous number of players not available is cause for concern. But credit to those that made the trip and gave their all … you can be proud of your efforts. My thanks to the parents for their support and help with transport – much appreciated. Training Thursday as normal and then a home game next Sunday. DH. PS: still one or two to confirm their child’s availability for Selsey so please let me know asap thanks as I have to confirm with the organisers.

Clubhouse open Sunday 9am onwards for BGV Adult training. Away games for the Sunday Reserves, U18s, U14 Girls and the U12s EKYL. See the Events & Fixtures page for details.
Happy 21st (again) birthday to Leah-Ann Mooney!
Top entertainment as U14s boost title hopes
In the top of the table clash at Waterside, Charing fought back from two early Green strikes to set up a pulsating affair which ended 7-4 in favour of the home team. On target for Sid’s boys were McDonalds Player of the Match Alfie Gramson (2), Brentley Hone, Joe Clarke (3) and Jack Matthews.

Brief round-up …
Fabulous stuff from the U10 Warriors
Two goals from Daeyaan, one each from Patrik and Thomas … wow what a turn round after all the defections. Well done to Peter, Simon and all the players and a special mention for PoM Logan.

U8s Global: Alex not a happy bunny
One never knows what is coming from the U8s Global! This week it wasn’t so good but Alex Hebbes and Marc Collins will sort it out! Player of the Match went to Tyler Q. Don’t forget, back to indoors at Knatchbull for training this week.
Rob’s Player of the Match is Elizabeth

A hammering but credit to the players who turned up!

Under 10s DVS enjoy another great game
Saturday morning my Bromley Green DVS U10s welcomed our friends from Pilgrims to Waterside.
We played them last weekend away and both games were brilliant. This home game was great to watch we played some lovely football the passing was great and this gave us lots of chances to score but I have to mention the Pilgrims keeper and say OMG what a great game he had, he was brilliant and he had a great battle with my top striker Jack as both coming up against each other a lot in this game.
I have to mention some of my players that went that extra mile this morning first was Lewis in goal he played really well keeping calm when dealing with back passes to keep the game flowing and also when called upon keeping focused as we was mostly attacking he had a great game. Also at the back Rhys and William having great games not being scared on the ball keeping calm and always finding a team mate with a pass was also great to see them passing back to the keeper but then moving to space to get the ball back. In midfield we had Gerrard, Riley and Keane all working so so hard for the team getting up and down the pitch all game, with Riley getting on the score sheet.
But man of the match went to two kids one was Cameron playing on the wing I lost count the amount of players he went passed, but like the other midfielders his work rate at getting back to defend was brilliant have to say this was Camerons best game in the Green and white of Bromley Green DVS.
My other choice was Jack my star forward, captain and my son. As I said earlier he had a great battle all game with the Pilgrims keeper, and I have to say the keeper won as Jack did not get on the scoresheet, but again OMG Jack tried everything to score hitting the post, some great saves that we thought was going in, it was a great battle. But what I liked most about Jack was he never gave up and like my midfielders I have mentioned his skill and work rate was brilliant as the saying goes you defend from the front.
If you see any parent from either team and ask them what’s the best game you have seen I 100% believe they will say the two under 10s games between Bromley Green DVS and Pilgrims. Both teams playing great football and in the right way it was a pleasure to watch.
Thanks Dean
Proud manager of this great Bromley Green DVS U10s
U9s: sorry not allowed to give score but great stuff with Samuel (3), Alfie and Ronnie on the mark. Player of the Match Charlie Jupp.

U12s Utilitas: Matteo goal on his return, and the Player of the Match voucher; but it wasn’t our best performance, not helped with players missing

U8s Dream Team: Tony and Damo over the moon with a brilliant display and a great game to watch. Can’t give the score but goals from Kai and Archie led to a happy changing room. Player of the Match was Noah who was outstanding at he back. See you at Kingswood on Thursday.
Hi Dave,
So report on today’s game as follows.
We were playing a very good little team who came to play football.
From the off they showed there Internet with a high press and putting the Dream Team under pressure from the first minute.
They played very neat one twos and continued that for the whole game.
On the plus note we responded very well and started to find our own rhythm after 5 mins. The game was played at a good level but in a competitive way.
We continued our winning ways and if we continue how we were today, shows that we are progressing in the right direction.
Very well done Dream Team, keep up the hard work – Tony and Damo
Goal scorers Archie 1, Kai 1
POTM Noah.
A thrashing for the out of sorts U13s but we go again … well done to Jacob our Player of the Match
David T was McDonalds Player of the Match for the Under 11s who continued their good run with another terrific display. Again, not allowed to give the score; but fantastic goals from Harley (2) and a penalty slotted away by Henry.

Vets Player of the Match is Billy Baker as we go down 1-0 to our friends from Lydd & Marsh. Visitors’ keeper Ben Smith outstanding. Jez Field claiming VAR evidence!
Amazingly, all games at home are on Saturday … only casualty we have heard of so far is the Under 9 Hurricanes away to Kennington which was called off Friday afternoon.
