Apologies to Harry and Josh … message from Brian Edwards (2019.12.02)
My job today was to mark the senior pitches out ready for the weekend. I was really saddened to see the 2 boys that came to train with the Under 15s turn up to no coach, no information as to what is going on, and them asking myself what’s going on with training. As I explained, I cannot take the boys training because I am not safeguarded. I would like to say well done to new Harry who came from Smeeth and Brabourne and Josh Peall for turning up ready to train. Brian Edwards.

Sunday Reserves Match Report from Timmy Russell
Bromley Green Reserves v Folkestone United
Today we played Folkestone Utd firsts, a team holding their own in Division One; but Sid and myself had belief in the lads although two divisions below in our early stages of the team.
The team soon showed us why, we started strongly and within 15 mins we was 2 .0 up, what a difference we are now when the team turns out, we created some great play and nearly got dragged into a dog fight as Folkestone showed their frustration, by half time it was 4 . 1.
Second half we again dominated and frustrated our opponents, we made 2 silly mistakes which allowed Folkestone both their goals but we finished up 6 . 2 winners, great result against a team so much higher than us in the leagues, at the moment anyway, goals came from Matt Wedge Charlie Wallis, Jordan Osborne, and loanees Matt Burdon, Casper and Munch. A big thanks to the team effort and a big thanks also to Michelle, Brian and family and Steph and family for the fantastic food they supplied and Sonia for giving her Sunday to open the club
Thanks all, great club support and effort, come on you Green Army!
Nine-goal thriller as Green U8 Dreamers look forward to the New Year
Manager Tony Nelson described the friendly with Charing Whites as ” … a game of two halves”. A useful work-out for both sides as the New Year beckons. Archie M was our Player of the Match with the goals provided by Kai 2 and Bubba 2. Well played both teams!
Under 12s EKYL back from Beckenham
Sometimes one just has to be honest – we took a hammering at the Real 60 FC Tournament on Sunday! But no criticism of our lads with all twelve turning up on time for the 5-a-side event and doing their best. We don’t seem to adapt to artificial surfaces and both our teams were run ragged from the first minute by players from another level. But positives were goals from Harley, Henry and Kris and the pertinent question is whether or not we learned from the experience. We will discuss this and go through the players’ individual progress plans after training on Thursday (club open 10am and we want to start by 11am please). My thanks as always to the parents who are a vital part of our ‘team’ and we go into our first league match of 2020 at Whitfield on Sunday (meet 11.15am) with hopefully everyone fit and raring to go. DH
Note: one or two of you have items of kit at home, don’t forget to return Thursday please. I also need some of you to return your Selsey consent forms … it is all booked but we legally have to have parental consent for participation in the tournament at Easter. Thank you.
