Super Sunday as BG Girls win 3-0 and U12s EKYL smash five without reply on the road
Steve Sutton reports on BG Girls win at Anchorian Sapphires
The girls had a hard game away with Anchorians being a tougher opponent than their visit to the waterside earlier in the season. The girls maintained their form and were 1 nil up at half time through an Ella Roper goal.
The second half saw the Green Girls grow more into the game scoring two more goals through Ella Roper and Anya Carrroll, the opposition stepped up their game but were reduced to long range shots as their best option to score.
Keeps the girls top of the league with the team in second place, our hosts for the next two weeks in a cup semi final and league game, whose game was called off due to the weather, which as it stands means two wins out of the last three league games will see them crown league champions. Also two of the last three league games are against the second place team. A few very tough games left I feel!
Keep it going girls we all know you have it in you to come home strong in the end of the season. Steve
Under 12s 5-0 victors at Barham
At Barham, a third successive clean sheet for the U12s Pirtek squad who hit a nap hand without reply. Player of the Match was two-goal Preston Webb with William Spiers, Kris Kostov and debutant Charlie Barber completing the scoring. With our huge squad, selecting players for next week’s home game with runaway leaders Woodnesborough will be difficult. But we go into every match with confidence … and who knows? Thanks again to parents for excellent support. DH
