Bromley Green Valiants C Team report from Debby Claber
Sunday got off to a good start with our first game against Milton giving us a 1-0 win and a goal for Adam. Our next 2 games were our toughest, against Swanscombe and Charlton. Owen went in goal for these and produced more of his strong saves, while on the pitch the team worked together nicely, showing awareness of the players around them (a weakness at the start of the season which now looks to be overcome!). Despite losses for us in both of these games, good defensive work kept the opposition scores low. Mat went back in goal for our last 2 games – and did use his hands (Dave and Aaron were happy hearing that after their encouragement during training, they did check!). A loss and a win (with goals from Owen and Jordon) ended the morning on a good note.No subs meant that every player had to produce maximum energy again and credit to everyone for staying cheerful, even when the odd decision didnt go our way. Player of the tournament … for encouraging and directing the team on pitch and for not reacting to the physical contact (hugs and cuddles?!) from some of our opponents, while continuing to cover a huge amount of ground during each game … it goes to Adam this month. Debby
