Polite reminder: all correspondence by email please or PM on facebook until my charger is sorted … thanks DH dhomewood@yahoo.com

Birthday greetings on Saturday to Khaled Zureiqi!

We are still hoping to hold the Awards Day on Saturday 20 June 2020 as originally planned. So all give some thought to your nominations please. Managers, all I have asked for at the moment is first, second and third choices for Manager’s Player of the Season in your particular team. Of course, the virus may well disrupt our planning and cause a date change; but let’s try an stay positive.

Parents please email me your bank account details and the club will refund your money over the weekend. Some have indicated they wish to leave their payments in lieu of our next trip. If you choose that option, an official letter will be forwarded to confirm your credit. Note texts to myself will not be useful at present as my iphone charger is on strike! Apologies to anyone I have not answered. dhomewood@yahoo.com

Yesteryears photo number 15: FA Cup 1966

PICTURE 15: This photo is from the Kop End at Essella Park 26 November 1966 when Ashford Town entertained Cambridge City in the FA Cup. In them days, most of us boys wore ties to the games! Great 4-1 triumph for the Town with Timmy Soutar and Jim Roberts scoring two apiece. Crowd 2,200 who had a great time. The weather was naughty in those days as well with the 2nd round proper tie at Swindon finally played midweek. The thrilling cup run came to end on 10 January 1967 with a 5-0 defeat in front of a gate of 12,079 at the County Ground.
