Great stuff from our Under 18s and young U9s Global starlets

Latest: Under 18s keep a clean sheet at Betteshanger

Super defensive show by the U18s at Betteshanger

The boys drew 0-0 with a good, strong defensive display. Didn’t give many chances away and dealt with the long ball well. We need to work on taking our chances but this is a strong start and a good building block to build on for in the future; and take the strong defensive display further.

Thanks and well played all the squad. Will Lines (manager).

U13s Pirtek – some of you are running out of excuses for irregular appearances at training. Apart from genuine illness/injury or holidays, I expect 100% attendance, not 50%! We train every Thursday and Sunday full stop.

Rhinos Whites v Bromley Green Global (Pre-season friendly)

Early joy for the Bromley Green U9 Global boys on Saturday morning at Downs View School. A competitive, yet sporting, encounter with Rhinos Whites was entertaining throughout despite the bone hard surface and muggy heat. Leo and Daniel (2) were our marksmen but this was a promising all-round squad display. Leo, playing with a smile on his face, notched first after great work down the right by the impressive George who created the chance with his superb right-foot cross. Despite the odd scare, Tyler G kept a clean sheet; while at the other end Daniel pleasingly netted with both feet. If one has to be a critical friend, some of the throw-ins were a sight to behold. Well played the whole squad. More photos on the Facebook pages of Bromley Green FC and GREEN ARMY. Ask DH to join.

RIP: Former Green stalwart Tom Carpenter

We have just been informed of the passing of former BGFC stalwart Tom Carpenter. Tom suffered a stroke at his home in Spain last October and never recovered. His eldest son Lee, who himself came through our youth ranks with younger brother Paul, has promised to catch up with us – perhaps when the new facility is up and running. So many great memories at Carters Field where Tom loved the banter (and the draught beer!) Condolences have been belatedly sent to the family. We have lost another of the Old School – RIP Tom Carpenter.

Birthday greetings Friday to Brendan Finn!

I will be at the club Friday 8am until 9am for anyone that wants to return equipment, balls etc or pay their debts. All facilities are now out of bounds. Thank you DH.
