Weekend is here …

Well done Edwin – McDonalds PoM for the Global team today

First two results in from Saturday sees narrow loss and big win

The U9s Global squad featured in a thriller this morning but missed out by the odd goal in five. Skipper Daniel Vincent smacked the crossbar from the halfway line while goals from PoM Edwin and birthday boy Tyler made for a close finish. Well played everyone – photos to follow.

Meanwhile, the Under 15s romped in 8-1 away to Grasshoppers – report and photos to follow later …

Grasshoppers v Bromley Green U10s (Friendly)

Green squad: Alfie, Thomas, Nathaniel, Louis, Tyler, Ibrahim, Ethan, Charlie, Owen, George

McDonalds Player of the Match is Thomas – well done!

In only our third friendly since the restart it was good to see the team get back to pre-lock down form. In an evenly contested opening 10mins both teams played well with chances at either end. The defence held strong and some outstanding saves from Thomas in goal kept the game even.

With the confidence starting to come back, the team passing the ball around nicely and started to take control. An excellently worked goal rounded off by Nathaniel set the team off before Owen added a further, firing in from an acute angle.

Both teams continued to play well with some nice football being played by both sides. Alfie continued his scoring streak with a neatly taken brace before Ibrahim rounded off the scoring following up Tyler’s effort well.

An excellent all round performance from the defence to attack. Difficult to choose but the PoM though went to Thomas in goal whose early excellent saves kept the scores level whilst contributing to 2 of the teams goals with his distribution. Well played Thomas but a great team performance by everyone involved.

Looking forward to the new season. David Bridge.
