Manager wanted – immediate start
Sadly George and Reece have stepped down as managers of the Under 16s. Therefore we need to appoint a new person immediately. CPD and all qualifications paid for the right applicant. In the first instance please contact admin Maria Black on 07305412043 or email davehomewood@icloud.com
Wednesday night’s reports from Damo and Grant
U13s McDonalds: We had a 4-4 draw today away to Wye. Was a very entertaining game. Goals coming from Ben, William (2) and a potential new player. Both Jamie and myself were very impressed with the way the team dug in and kept their heads up. Damo
U14s Skoda Caffyns: We lost 9-3 but 5 of the goals were in a 15 minute period. Some very pleasing displays, need to work on fitness and tackling but signs are good. New players did well. Grant
Urgently wanted after Simon stepping down: BG Valiants Juniors coach – please contact Dave Homewood by text on 07761101988
Great entertainment in friendly at Ball Lane

Three 20-minute ‘halves’ at Ball Lane provided excellent entertainment on Tuesday evening between Kennington and Bromley Green U15s. The sides know each other well and shared keepers after a warm-up injury to George. The home team opened the scoring early doors with a fine header that gave stand-in goalie Owen no chance and then the yellows rattled the crossbar. However, with Jacob and skipper Jack urging us forward, we really should have snapped up a coupe of chances that went begging. In the final two sections, Jacob did the hard work on two occasions but hit wide when it mattered. Well done to both teams on serving up a sporting and competitive encounter. Big worries for Sid with Saturday’s opener at Otford looming are injuries to Amelia and George although Alex is expected to return. Well done to all the parents that supported. Dave Homewood.
Seniors friendly last night
A friendly arranged literally at the last minute at Hamstreet saw a mixed Green squad defeated 7-3 by Ashford FC. Good displays by Alfie Glendinning, before getting another injury, and Lenny Russell; with the Green goals coming from Reece Pringle, Alfie (pen) and Charlie Wallis. Brian and lads are looking forward to Saturday’s league opener and don’t forget training is now on TUESDAYS at the slightly earlier time of 6.30pm with Ian, Benn and Brian.
