Will Lines reports from Stodmarsh on the U18s friendly with Canterbury City

We lost 1-0, quite a slow start to the match and I think the boys were rather tired after the Friday fixture. Canterbury went down to 10 men after about 15 minutes into the match. We didn’t have too many chances over the course of the game.
Squad that played: Harley, Freddie, Aidan, Aidan T, Kai, Nelson, Frankie, Toby, Ethan, Dan, Conan, Ollie, Ilja, Lash, George, Ronnie

Dubious penalty kills double hopes for BG U14 Girls

Ready for the final on Sunday afternoon … with the League Divisional winners award
End of a chapter
Goal to the Green … it’s 2-2 with extra time looming

The double wasn’t to be on Sunday afternoon at Kent FA headquarters where BGFC U14 Girls were undone by a dubious penalty decision with almost the last kick of extra time. Ella had given us the lead with a superb drive, low and hard, but the Stones levelled before the break. Not firing on all cylinders during spells in the second half, we went behind and looked a shade leg weary. However, Chloe forced home for 2-2 and it was game on. Penalties seemed a certainty until a Maidstone forward raid ended with the official pointing to the spot after 50/50 tussle. Cruel! Well done to Steve and Mark on winning the League Division Two and remaining unbeaten; and good luck to the girls wherever their future lies.
